Dr. Jeffrey Paul
Associate Professor of Management and Marketing
Jeff Paul is an associate professor of management and marketing. He teaches principles of management, international business, organizational behavior, and other management courses. Jeff began teaching for ORU in fall of 2018.
Jeff graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor of business administration degree in finance. He worked as a computer programmer for a business services firm where one of his main projects was ensuring Y2K readiness for his company and their clients. Jeff then attended Arizona State University earning his MBA, with an emphasis in sports business. During this time he worked for the Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks, and did project work for the Phoenix Suns and the PGA Tour. Upon completing his MBA he worked for the University of Tulsa as assistant director of athletic marketing. He gained additional management experience in the call center industry.
Jeff returned to academia to obtain his Ph. D. in business management with a specialization in organizational behavior from Oklahoma State University. He spent a year at Illinois State University in Normal, IL before returning to Tulsa to teach at the University of Tulsa. While at TU he had a dual appointment in the Department of Management and Marketing as well as the School of Energy Economics Policy and Commerce. He is an active researcher, with publications in the top management journals and has developed case studies for use in the classroom. His research touches on leadership, teams, ethics, and Autism in the workplace. After four years at TU, he worked as vice president of strategic planning for a public oil and gas exploration company in San Antonio, TX where in addition to corporate planning he oversaw administration and human resource efforts.
Jeff is a Tulsa native and currently resides in Owasso, OK with his wife Julie and four children – Griffin, Alexandra, Jesse, and Jules. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, basketball, disc golf, and spending time with his family. He works as a basketball referee, officiating college and high school contests. He also has an extensive antique barbed wire collection. He volunteers at his local church, the Special Olympics, and for Junior Achievement.
